ABOUT MARIAEUGENIA

Mariaeugenia Gurdian participated in the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) Global Leaders Program during her Fall 2019 semester. Through this program, she completed two internships in Washington, D.C. and worked to advance the Hispanic community. Overall, she has completed two Congressional internships and one non-profit internship in the private sector. She has additionally participated in multiple programs that have allowed her to travel to Israel and explore careers in foreign service. 

Education:

Mariaeugenia is a student at Florida International University's Honors College. She will be graduating in Spring 2020 with a bachelor of art in political science and international relations. She completed certificates in Pre-Law Skills and Professional Values and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. 

Awards & Honors:

Mariaeugenia has been named a Florida Academic Scholar and Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar. She has had the honor of being selected as a 2019 Cox-State Department Diplomacy Scholar. She is also a CHLI Global Leader alumna. 

Aspirations:

Mariaeugenia will be beginning law school this upcoming Fall of 2020. She is passionate about public international law and hopes to pursue this interest in law school. She aspires to later practice as an attorney in this field, ideally at the U.S. Department of State. She hopes to work with Latin America and the Western Hemisphere.
