FIU's Student Ambassador Program

The Experience:

The Student Ambassador Program is the philanthropic council at FIU. As a Student Ambassador, I serve as the student liaison to alumni and donors by hosting campus tours and facilitating Alumni Association events. We represent the student body. Additionally, we advance philanthropic efforts by raising funds and promoting student-giving. Our main project is raising money for FIU’s Student Emergency Fund, which serves as a safety net for FIU students.

A Family Making a Difference:

Being a Student Ambassador at FIU has given me a family on campus. Not only are all of us there for each other, but together we are there for the entire FIU community. Our impact is crucial because we focus mostly on the student-giving aspect of raising funds. As students who give our time and monetary donations to the cause, it is exemplary to other students. It is more personal for us students to encourage other students to donate. In essence, by doing this, we are fostering a future generation of generous alumni. This is a legacy that will continue to bear fruit on FIU and its current and future students.

Leadership Role:

During my time as a Student Ambassador, I have served on the executive board as Vice President of Operations. Within this role I managed the group through organizational and administrative tasks, including keeping track of attendance, requirements and events. I also assisted in budget proposal to the Student Government Association and secured a nearly two-fold budget increase for our program. Moreover, I helped with the organization FIU tradition-based events, such as Trail of the Torch and Get the Scoop on Philanthropy.
